The GrowFridge is a smart, IOT-enabled micro farm that is designed to grow a wide variety of microgreens, leafy greens and herbs. When connected to the internet and the App, the GrowFridge retrieves our proprietary grow recipes from the cloud and translates them into instructions for the GrowFridge to adjust the light intensity and watering cycles based on what type of seeds have been placed inside. There is little to no user intervention required for your greens to go from seed to harvest in the GrowFridge.
A grow recipe to refers to the aggregation of plant growth parameters such as temperature, light intensity and duration, watering frequency and amounts and nutrient dosages into a single formula that is specific for each type of vegetable. Not to be confused with cooking recipes, which we will make available through our app in due time so that our users will have ideas of what kind of dishes they can whip up with the greens they harvest.
None at all! The fully automated system does all the work for you. All you have to do is harvest your chosen crops when they are ready.
Very little! All that is needed is a regular power outlet and a stable internet connection. Control the GrowFridge through the Aejou App and pop in our seed punnets to get started. Our smart micro farms do all the growing for you so that you do not have to!
With its compact size (60cm W x 60 cm D x 90cm H) and beautiful aesthetics, the GrowFridge was designed to fit seamlessly into any room or home. Since the GrowFridge manages the temperature, watering and lighting for optimal plant growth, it can even be located in a shaded spot without any light.
No, it does not. The GrowFridge is a closed-loop system that comes with an integrated water tank in-built that recirculates water. Top it up the first time you use it and you are good to go!
The GrowFridge is water positive. This means that the GrowFridge consumes less water than is required. How is this possible? In the GrowFridge nothing goes to waste. Condensate from the cooling system is recycled back into the water tank and used for irrigation. After you fill up your tank the first time there is no need to top it up anymore.
The GrowFridge uses custom-designed full spectrum LED horticultural grow lights that mimic the spectrum of natural sunlight required for healthy plant growth and photosynthesis.
The maximum power rating of the GrowFridge is 450W with all components running. For all other times, the power consumption can be as low as a computer.
Not at all. The GrowFridge was designed to be as minimally intrusive as possible. We only recommend that the grow trays be removed and given a wash once every 3 months.
Almost never! The GrowFridge recycles condensate from the cooling system back into the water tank!
Yes, definitely! The plants grown on your balcony are subject to non-optimal growing conditions such as unfavourable temperatures, insufficient sunlight, inconsistent nutrients and are often prone to insects and pests. Greens in the GrowFridge grow many times faster as they are given optimal doses of light, water, temperature and nutrients. And since it is a closed system you do not have to worry about insects and pests destroying your plants. Another reason why you would benefit from an GrowFridge – grow greens that wouldn’t otherwise flourish in our tropical climate!
The GrowFridge runs with little to no human inputs so why not! However, we recommend that the GrowFridge be switched off if you are travelling for more than 10 days. Try starting a new cycle of vegetables before leaving for your trip and return home to ready-to-harvest greens for your enjoyment!
The GrowFridge is proudly designed, engineered and manufactured in-house in Singapore.
The GrowFridge costs S$2,499 on its own, S$2,099 with a 6-month subscription to our Seed Service at S$120/month and S$1,899 with a 12-month subscription to our Seed Service at S$100/month. We recommend purchasing the GrowFridge with a Seed Service to enjoy greater savings!
That depends on which package you have purchased. The basic package for just the Aejou GrowFridge includes the GrowFridge and a spare water tube for draining the water from the tank. When purchased with a Seed Service, the GrowFridge comes with the first month’s supply of 48 seed punnets along with 2 bottles of nutrient solutions.
We supply only the highest quality of seeds sourced locally in Singapore as well as from all over the world like USA, Japan and Holland to ensure a successful growing experience with the Aejou each and every time.
We currently provide an extensive selection of over 60 varieties of herbs, baby greens and microgreens. From nutrient-packed microgreens such as Red Amaranth and Stevia, to garnishes like Parsley and Coriander, asian greens like Bok Choy and Choy Sum and finally to western salads like Baby Spinach, Kale and various lettuces.
Microgreens are typically ready for harvest as early as 10-14 days, herbs in about 3 weeks and baby greens require 4 weeks from seed to harvest.
We are working tirelessly to expand our range of seed offerings to include more vegetables, fruits and flowers. All our seeds and recipes are rigorously tested to ensure that they grow successfully in the GrowFridge before they are released. Stay tuned for updates!
The GrowFridge grows 48 seed punnets at a time, 24 on each level. The amount that can be harvested depends on the type of crops chosen. Baby greens and salad leaves yield more volume compared to herbs and microgreens.
Of course! While most leafy greens and microgreens are only one-time harvests, our herbs can be harvested multiple times.
The substrate that we use is made up of 100% organic substances. We only use the highest quality non-GMO seeds and all our greens grow without the use of pesticides.
Our substrate is made up of our house mix of organic matter, peat moss and coco peat.
All our seed punnets are lovingly produced in our own nursery located in Singapore.
That depends on what types of greens are being grown in the GrowFridge.
The individual seed punnets cost between S$3.50 to S$4.50, depending on the type of seeds purchased. You may check out our full product offerings on our Shop after it goes live. We recommend subscribing to a Seed Service to enjoy greater savings.
There are two options for how additional seeds and consumables are distributed. We have on offer 6 months and 12 months subscriptions through our Seed Services that packages everything needed to grow in the GrowFridge into monthly subscription services. Alternatively, there is also the option to buy the seeds, substrates, nutrients and other consumables individually.
The Seed Service is a monthly seed, substrate and consumables subscription service that we have carefully curated for our customers. In each monthly delivery, users receive 48 seed punnets, 2 bottles of nutrients and all other consumables required to grow successfully in the GrowFridge. The Seed Service also comes with a guarantee to replace any seed punnets that do not grow successfully at no additional costs.
We currently have 2 Seed Services on offer – a 6-month Seed Service and a 12-month Seed Service. As a stand-alone service, the 6-month Seed Service costs $150/month and the 12-month Seed Service costs $120/month. However, if you buy them together with the GrowFridge you stand to enjoy greater savings, and renewals at preferential rates too!
We currently only ship within Singapore at this moment. However, we are working out the logistics for international shipping and hope to help you on your Aejou growing journey beyond the shores of Singapore very soon.
